Father's Day has once again snuck up on me. I find myself scrambling to pull together a special day for my husband because he's a kickass dad to our two boys and he deserves it.

I figure there are probably other hot mess moms out there like me trying to figure out father's day in the midst of a pandemic too.

I've compiled a couple ideas of what to do for father's day for you. Feel free to do all or one or even none. Hopefully this gives you some ideas:

What are they interested in?

I think the best gift takes into consideration what your partner loves.

Sure, you can get the classic tie, but if your husband doesn't dress up for work or likes to be more casual, it's probably just going to sit in the closet, untouched.

One great option is subscription boxes! They have boxes for every interest under the sun.

Is he a coffee lover? Gamer? Foodie? Outdoorsy?
There is literally something for everyone.
My personal favourite place for subscription boxes is CrateJoy.

Here are just a few boxes I found while searching that I think many fathers would like:

My husband loves sports: basketball, hockey, football, baseball, you name it, he watches it. He wears many of his favourite team's shirts on the daily and many of those shirts are worn out with holes.

When I asked him what he would want for Father's Day (because it's okay to ask!), he said he would love a replacement for some of his more worn-out shirts.

Get the kids involved!

I always think it's a good idea to make a card that involves the kids. Not only is it fun for the kids but it means so much more than anything store-bought.

My husband loves sports so in searching Pinterest, I found a cute card of a catcher's mitt and baseball that says, "Dad, you're a catch!". But you can do whatever follows your partner's interests: there's literally a card for anything on Pinterest.

I love the idea of interviewing the kids about their dad and seeing their answers.
I made a free printable that you can use:

Make it delicious!

I think a meal and/or dessert can go a long way to celebrating dad. I decided to get Hello Fresh for the occasion so we could have something out of our normal rotation of weekly meals in order to make his day feel more special.

Maybe you could make his favourite meal? Or order in his favourite takeout?
